MANGALORE V/S MALLS

Hai friends HAPPY SHIVRATHRI to all of you..I am updating after so many days..well life is busy at times..today had been to empire mall..with my friend..sat there in a corner and started gossiping..pretty nice place to hang around for students actually..and you get lots of mouth watering dishes..you need to have a loaded wallet though.. :-) i have to admit that i am totally a food freak..i always get tempted when i come across these spicy foods..well the snack that i end up with when i am here is this katti kebab roll..thats available in the stall called shaayari kebab..beautiful name isnt it..? and if you are in Empire mall at the lunch time..then you can try out the diffrent thalis[ bowl of rice, some currys, rasam, chapathi or rotis, yoghurt ,papad, pickle, aam ras] that you get in bombay chaats..you have gujrathi, punjabi, maharastrian thalis..pure vegitarian...but its very tasty..go for the special thalis...i usually opt for special punjabi thali because you get the masala papad along with that..and i like that a lot..a new stall saiba has been opened up in the food yard now..its run by the hangyo icecream guys i suppose..Finally all the stalls there have been occupied.COOL!!

Now malls are going to be there in every corner of mangalore..few years later mangalore is going to be one of the happening places..we also have the Bharath Mall...which has Adlabs Multiplex, Big Bazaar,Food Bazaar, PlanetM, Pizza Hut, Pantaloons, Coffee Day, Subway, Adidas, Reebok, Provogue, Planet Sports, Swawroski, Lewis just to name a few..The Saibeen complex is the first mall in mangalore..which has lost its charm now, but still it has the pride of being the first ever mall in mangalore..

Another mall, the "Mohtisham City Centre Mall", is coming up on K S Rao road. It has a retail space of almost 800,000 square feet.Is one of the biggest malls in south india!! thats so awesome.. Spencers, McDonalds, Westside, Reliance Fresh, Landmark, Shoppers Stop have already booked their spaces. The mall will also feature a 6 screen multiplex called 'Fun Cinemas'.

The Bangalore based Prestige group is investing about 300 crores for their upcoming 625,000 sq feet mall 'Forum' near AB Shetty Circle and is targeted to be fully functional by November 2008.Another mall is expected to be built opposite to the TMA Pai International convention centre on MG Road.one of the biggest conventional hall in Asia!!

'Mischief Mega Mall' [K.S.Rao.Road] is also going to be fully functional very soon..
'Excel Mall'[K.S.Rao.Road], 'Time Square'[Kadri], 'Pio Mall'[Kodailbail/Karangalpady]. , 'Golden Harvest Mall','Mangalore Central Mall', Kshitij Mall [Future Group] , Plama Mall[Kulshekar],are the upcoming malls in Mangalore..

Thats true.. So people be ready for a brand new mangalore filled with buildings and buildings and buildings and buildings.... :-) not to forget our culture...ofcourse its true that mangalore is being ravaged in the name of progress...well thats part and parcel..cant help..i want my city to grow, and still maintain its charm and beauty forever..

With so many malls, projects, buildings and everything..the western lifestyle has already been stabilized in our country..Whatever may it be, We being INDIANS will never forget our generosity and our culture..I love mangalore and I love my country... :-)
